Work/Life balance and ASH flexibility
ASH prides itself on our ability to get the job done. At the same time we recognise that every person's life contains it own demands and challenges, and we need to be flexible to fit the job with life.
Steve W: Takes one day a week off to help care for his father. Also leaves on the dot on Thursday afternoon to make 5 a side football.
Andy: Works on a zero hours contract, on a project by project basis. Currently on sabbatical working for a startup to exploit one of his own inventions. Using ASH as a subcontractor for prototype development at the moment.
James J: Takes a long lunch break to take Otto (his dog) for a walk in the daytime. Works late to get everything done.
Denis: Only works part time to fit with his lecture commitments at the university.
Katherine: Works reduced hours and schedule to fit with childcare commitments and choir practice.
James B: Works a flexible schedule of days to allow for a 6 day break every month for adventure trips - e.g. Skiing, mountain biking, hiking.
