Position: Graduate Electronics Engineer

About the job:

You will work with other members of the technical team to create innovative design solutions across a range of projects which might include:

Low power microcontroller based products using 802.15.4, Bluetooth, WiFi
Industrial systems and Scientific instrumentation
You will be:
Designing circuits, involved in schematic capture and PCB design
Designing embedded software
Getting prototype designs made, tested and debugged
Taking designs right through to production

Minimum Requirements:

A good degree in electronics engineering
Excellent practical problem solving skills
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
A solid foundation in digital and analogue electronics design
Imaginative and inquisitive mind, eager to learn new skills and to develop solutions for interesting and complex problems
In addition, any experience of the following will also be beneficial:

Good software engineering skills e.g. experience of using C, MATLAB, Python, Labview, Java, Android Studio, Xcode.

PCB design
RF circuit design
Signal processing
FPGAs
 

Location:               Southampton, Hampshire.                Salary:                                   Competitive.       
Benefits:                25 days holiday per year.                  Probationary period           6 months.

Position: Electronic Design Internship

About the job:

We are offering an electronic engineering internship to work within our team of consultant design engineers, contributing directly to consulting work.  The opportunity is a training position and will involve a mentored training schedule to develop knowledge and skills where needed.  The internship will cover both hardware and software development as well as giving exposure to the field of RF / wireless communications.

We are looking for someone studying for an Electronics MEng degree who has an emerging grasp of communications systems and information theory, analogue and digital circuit design and embedded systems programming.  Some experience in scripting languages such as Python is an advantage, as would be practical dexterity in prototype hardware circuit build.
 
We would also be interested to hear about any technical hobby interests you may have – for example writing apps, making interesting electronic gadgets or fixing broken things.
 
Location:             Southampton, Hampshire.

Hours:                  Negotiable during term-time. Full-time during holidays.

Wages:                 £8 per hour.

Position: Electronics Lab Technician

An Electronics Lab Technician is sought for general wiring/soldering/prototype creation role at small electronics consultancy.

Must be able to handle intricate soldering work and wiring loom creation across a wide variety of projects.

The work is generally small scale prototype electronic device production and may include parts ordering, equipment testing, rework, flashing software, assembly, disassembly and reassembly, packing, label making, cutting, gluing, coating and painting.

Bench testing experience, using electronic test equipment and logging results with Microsoft office or similar software package, would be an advantage.

Would suit a person with good dexterity and attention to detail.

Small friendly company, informal work environment.

Part-time, typically 16-25 hours per week. Hours worked can be flexible.   
Holiday entitlement: Pro rata 25 days full time.

Wages: dependent upon experience

Probationary Period: 3 months
