ASH has had a long history of working with startups and entrepreneurs to help design and create innovative electronics products. Nurturing and coaching ideas into existence is at the core of our services and the team have helped in over 50 designs thus far.

In light of this, we have been very excited to continue expanding our partnership with the University of Southampton through their new Future Worlds StartUp Incubator. This new initiative brings together University of Southampton researchers, entrepreneurs, successful start-ups and aspiring student innovators.

Future Worlds is a new platform, which focuses on the business of invention and entrepreneurship, highlighting the innovative commercial opportunities being developed by researchers and students at the University of Southampton. By providing exclusive access to events, support, and mentors with a global network of contacts, Future Worlds helps turn these opportunities into market-ready solutions for a range of industries.

Our Founder - CTO Steve Braithwaite was delighted to be asked to participate as a Mentor in the initiative and, as a part-time lecturer in Wireless Communications at the University of Southampton’s School of Electronics and Computer Science, Steve will be well positioned to mentor students taking a step from academia into a commercial environment. You can read more about Steve's role as a Mentor on the FutureWorlds site or watch his introduction video below.

Steve will be also speaking in two weeks time at the regular ‘Mentor Masterclass’ sharing some startup wisdom under the topic "Successes and Scars”.

You can read more about the vision and aims of FutureWorlds on their website.
